India's Steel Industry Setting New Standards in Green Production

India’s steel industry is achieving new milestones in green production, aligning with global sustainability goals amidst the global push toward decarbonization, said Sajjan Jindal, President of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) and Chairman of JSW Group.

Speaking at the 78th Annual Technical Meet (ATM) of IIM, Mr. Jindal emphasized the importance of adopting transformational technologies in materials and manufacturing to address the challenges of a rapidly evolving world. The three-day conclave, held from November 20-22, was inaugurated on Wednesday by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru.

Organized by JSW Steel in collaboration with the Ministry of Steel and IIM chapters nationwide, the event has brought together 1,700 delegates, including global experts in materials science and metallurgy.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, addressing the gathering, remarked, "Bengaluru stands as a symbol of technological and industrial progress. It is only fitting that we host this prestigious event, uniting experts to shape the future of metals and materials."

A technical exhibition featuring 65 companies is showcasing cutting-edge innovations, further highlighting the transformative potential of advanced materials and manufacturing technologies.
