Dormant projects in Mumbai are finally coming to life under PM Modi's leadership, fuelled by his commitment to efficient execution and strategic investment.

A Monumental Leap: Atal Setu Connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), now proudly known as Atal Setu, is a 21.8-km, six-lane expressway bridge that seamlessly connects Mumbai with its satellite city, Navi Mumbai. This engineering marvel, the longest sea bridge in India and the 12th longest globally, boasts a 27-meter width, accommodating six lanes and two emergency exit lanes. With a daily capacity to handle over 70,000 vehicles, Atal Setu dramatically reduces the travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai from a grueling 42-km drive to a mere 20 minutes.

This monumental infrastructure project not only showcases India's engineering prowess but also underscores the nation's strides towards becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A Dream Realized: From Concept to Completion

The seeds of Atal Setu were sown back in 1963, during Prime Minister Nehru's era, when Wilbur Smith and Associates first proposed the Uran Bridge. However, like many ambitious projects of the Nehruvian era, this visionary endeavor languished for decades, despite the Congress party's extended rule over Maharashtra. It is under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Modi that this long-awaited dream has finally been realized, transforming the landscape of Mumbai and its surrounding regions.
